Goalscoring improvement plays major part in 2017 success

Cambridge’s success in winning major titles this season has largely been due to a significant improvement in goalscoring.

With one game still to play, Cambridge’s first team have already racked up 88 goals this season – that’s 12 more than last season.

More remarkable is that the side’s goal tally exceeds the 66 goals scored by the 2015 WaiBOP Premiership title-winning team – a 33% improvement in front of goal.

Five players have notched double-figure tallies, showing the team can score from forwards, midfielders and set plays.

In the WaiBOP Championship, Cambridge have registered 64 goals so far (with one fixture remaining), showing an improvement on the 46 scored last year.
