Cambridge to host WaiBOP Finals Day again

Cambridge to host WaiBOP Finals Day again

Cambridge will host the 2017 WaiBOP Football Finals Day at John Kerkhof Park on Saturday September 9.

The day will feature:

- Soccer Shop Waikato Cup Final between Otorohanga B and Cambridge B (kick off 2.45pm)

- Soccer Shop Waikato Plate Final between Waihi B and Waikato Unicol A

These are the only games scheduled for our grounds that day, enabling the club to stage a gala day for the four teams involved in the finals.

It’s the third time in five years that Cambridge FC has been entrusted with Waikato football’s finals day.

Last year, more than 800 spectators filled John Kerkhof Park to watch Northern United beat Te Awamutu 1-0 in the Waikato Cup, and the Plate final between winners Melville United and Huntly Thistle.

This year, Cambridge will have one of its own teams in the final, with the Waikato B team facing Otorohanga in the big game.

The last time Cambridge featured in finals day was 2013 when the club’s A team were beaten by Hamilton Wanderers in the Cup, and the Cambridge C team lifted the Plate after beating Waihi B.

Entry to this year’s finals day is free and it’s a great opportunity to enjoy a festival atmosphere.

Supporters from all the finalists are welcome to John Kerkhof Park.
