What's in store for Cambridge teams this weekend

Cambridge hosts a top-of-the-table clash this weekend that will play a significant part in deciding this yearís Loaded WaiBOP Premiership.

Visitors to John Kerkhof Park are Premiership leaders Waikato Unicol who lead third-placed Cambridge by five points but have played one more fixture.

A win will put either side in pole position to take the competition.

Cambridge go into the match having won six Premiership games in a row while Unicol arrive on the back of successive losses to Bay of Plenty clubs Old Blues and Otumoetai.

The 2.45pm fixture will stir memories of the 2015 encounter in which Cambridge won 3-2 with a goal in added time to seal that seasonís Premiership title.

The WaiBOP Championship match between Cambridge and Unicol, scheduled for 12.30pm, has been postponed because several Cambridge players are representing their region at futsal championships.

The Cambridge A team will host Melville United A at 2.45pm.

The menís B team travel to Melville United for a 12.30pm match at Gower Park. Both teams are in the last four of the Soccer Shop Waikato Cup so this fixture might give a clue of whatís to come in the knockout competition.

The D2 side will play Claudelands Rovers D2 at John Kerkhof Park (12.30pm) while the D1s were awaiting news of their weekend opponents while fixture schedules were being revised.

On Sunday, the womenís first team resume their WaiBOP Premier League campaign with a home fixture (11am) against Melville United Premiers.

The second team host Claudelands Rovers in the Waikato Womenís B Bowl at 11am.

WaiBOP Federation Youth and Junior Leagues take a breather this weekend as itís the school holidays.
